Rhys Chatham “A Crimson Grail” Due Out September 14

The recording of last year’s performance of “A Crimson Grail” at the Lincoln Center will be released September 14, and is available now for pre-order.  I played in this ensemble of 2oo guitarists and 16 bass players, and it was amazing.

Nonesuch press release

  1. This is awesome. Now I only need to find a recording of Nick Cave/Warren Ellis’ score for Woyzeck for a Reykjavik circus trope at BAM circa 2008. Anyone know Icelandic?

I just picked this up today and am listening as I write this. I can’t be 100% sure, but I think that’s you on page 12 in the CD booklet (it looks like you to my eyes).

I wish this piece could someday be played in Chicago. I’m sure they could put 200 guitarists into Grant Park!!
